7 Rules to Follow in Forex Trading

In order to be successful in any type of trading, you have to follow a certain set of rules. If you don't follow those rules, you really don't have much of a foundation to stand on. Here's a figure to take into consideration: 98% of individuals have lost money on Forex and 2% have succeeded. The 2% who have succeeded have taken their time and followed the necessary rules to ensure that they do succeed. Some of the rules seem simple, while others seem a little more difficult. However, not following the rules is like trying to drive through rush hour traffic without traffic signs.

So what are these rules that must be followed? Here are 7 of those rules:

• If you ever have any questions, always make sure that you ask for advice. You wouldn't walk into traffic blindfolded without someone leading you, so you don't want to walk into Forex training with a blindfold on. Make sure you read the books, check out the Internet, and even try practice trading through trial accounts online.

• Never start too big. You always want to start out small. Trading Forex, just like any type of trading, is risky. This simply means that you don't want to invest more than what you can afford to lose.

• Don't ever get too emotionally involved in the market. Emotion can kill a person's potential on the market. Assumption is a huge enemy because a person can lose up to 75% of their investment through assumption.

• Pretend that Forex trading is a game. By pretending it is a game, you are able to give a bit of oomph to your competitiveness. However, you cannot allow yourself to get too over-confident or you are creating a recipe for disaster.

• Always use stop loss. This means that you want to put a stop loss on all trades because it is better for you to lose a little bit of your money than lose it all.

• Once you have found a system, stick to it. If it is working with you, do not deviate away from that system. Don't even try to change the smallest part of it.

• Don't listen to the latest news because the news can be quite misleading. Basically, you are embarking on non-direction trading no matter what the news says, but just know that sometimes what is in the news really doesn't have an impact on what you're doing. Look at the stock itself and not what others are saying about it in the media.

There are tons of strategies out there. But no matter what strategy you choose to use, you have to play by the rules. These are 7 rules that can be used with any strategy that you use, so make sure you follow them. If not, then you really don't have a leg to stand on, which means you are trading blindly. Never trade blind because you just might have everything to lose. Otherwise, have fun and grow your money.
